Tickets On Sale Now For WFUV's Holiday Cheer Concert On December 5 With Headliner Lucinda Williams

The Alternate Side's mothership, WFUV, has tapped Lucinda Williams to headline the station's annual fundraising concert, Holiday Cheer for WFUV, on Wednesday, December 5th at the Beacon Theatre. Tickets for the show are on sale now through Ticketmaster. A portion of the proceeds will also be donated to the American Red Cross to support local Hurricane Sandy Relief efforts.

And now it's Halloween — the official day of all things scary — and TAS on WFUV will try to brighten the mood, by the light of a glowing jack o'lantern, with a special Halloween show tonight, October 31, at 10 p.m. EDT. TAS host Russ Borris promises he won't play "Monster Mash" either.

Are you an artist who dreams of being the designer of a great album cover like Peter Saville (of New Order and Joy Division fame) or Stanley Donwood (all of Radiohead's albums)? WFUV's latest collection of in-studio performances, FUV Live 15, is in the works with a remarkable list of potential artists lined up that includes Feist, Alabama Shakes, Blitzen Trapper and more. If you submit the winning cover, you could take home $500, a bunch of FUV swag, your credit on the finished CD, the eternal gratitude of the FUV staff, and the admiration of your fellow FUV listeners. Ever been on a floating dance party? Say goodbye to summer on September 7 with a very special 80s themed dance party on the FUV boat to benefit WFUV and The Alternate Side on Friday, September 7 from 7-10 p.m. EDT. TAS DJs Russ Borris and Alisa Ali and WFUV's Darren DeVivo will spin 80s faves like New Order, Prince, Beastie Boys, The Smiths, Erasure, Run DMC and much more via a Circle Line boat headed down the Hudson.
