TAS Interview: Karl Hyde of Underworld

British dance and electronica innovators Underworld kicked off their too-brief North American tour last night in Washington D.C., supporting their new, collaboration-driven album Barking.  The Essex-based duo of composer/producer Rick Smith and vocalist/guitarist Karl Hyde play New York's Roseland Ballroom on October 27, but first, they make their Stateside television debut on "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" tonight, October 26. The Alternate Side caught up with Karl and chatted about the fresh approach which sparked Barking, painting and his truly inimitable (and ever-expanding) record collection.

TAS In Session: Colour Revolt

Facing label and lineup changes, Sean Kirkpatrick and Jesse Coppenberger, founding members of Colour Revolt, took a bold step and redirected the group's trajectory. They released their latest album, The Cradle, on their own and they're even offering a free download of the album to ticket buyers on their upcoming tour, kicking off October 28. Colour Revolt dropped by The Alternate Side recently to play several tracks from The Cradle and revealed their love of very large, very soft t-shirts.
