TAS in Session: Great Lake Swimmers

Every now and then, we get a little reflective on The Alternate Side. Sometimes we want to sit by ourselves on the train and just look out the window. Enter Great Lake Swimmers. The perfect companion for situations just like this. They make quietly thoughtful music that is completely unpretentious.

TAS in Session: Phoenix

Thomas Mars and Christian Mazzalai from the French band Phoenix stopped by The Alternate Side the other day to talk about their new album Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix which comes out at the end of the month. Like their other albums, this one is filled with masterful little gems that are great for parties and driving fast.

TAS in Session: Cotton Jones

It was a great day at the office when one of my favorite new bands came in to our Studio A, Cotton Jones. I've become a bit obsessed with their album, Paranoid Cocoon. This is the type of album that you can have on repeat for hours, maybe even days. There are gorgeous harmonies and lush arrangements on the record. It's true that it's very melancholy, but some of the most beautiful music is.

TAS in Session: James Walsh of Starsailor

It's been about three years since we last heard from the UK band Starsailor. After a little time off, the band began recording their fourth studio album, which is called All The Plans.
