Liam Gallagher Plans His First Post-Oasis Release In July

Oasis might have died an unlikely Brit-pop death in, of all places, Paris last August following a ferocious backstage row between the Gallagher brothers at Rock en Seine, but while Noel Gallagher has been keeping a low profile, his estranged brother Liam is already raring to release a solo album this July.

The pugilistic rocker told XFM radio in the U.K. more details about the album that he hopes to record with former Oasis bandmates Andy Bell, guitarist Gem Archer, and drummer Chris Sharrock this spring. The band still remains unnamed.

"We're going in [the studio] in April with a producer," said Gallagher, "we're going to do three songs with him and if he doesn't balls it up and we don't balls it up then we'll go in and do the whole album with him."

Gallagher said that most of the material he's bringing in are songs he wrote before Oasis dissolved. As for the contentious breakup, the singer said that one of his regrets was that Oasis wasn't more prolific, releasing just seven albums in their 16-year career.

"I'm not going to beat myself up about it," said Gallager. "I think we should have made better, bigger albums. Or more albums."
