The Alternate Side Weekend Report: Apr 23th-26th
Earth Day was Wednesday, but let’s face it, every day is Earth Day! This weekend, take some time to stop and smell the flowers on your way to one of the upcoming EPA certified shows. You’re friends will be green with envy that you got to bask in the natural talent of these artists. So be an Earth warrior this weekend and get your inner tree -hugger on with these environmentally friendly bands!
Thursday

The Foundry Field Recordings have had a lot of time to contemplate the precious ground we walk on while perfecting their shoe-gazing indie pop. They think the ground is pretty sweet; and I’m sure you’ll think their fresh, organic sound is exceptional. You can check out FFR this Thursday, April 23 at Union Hall. The show starts at 7:30pm and tickets are $10. 21+
Friday

I don’t know why people make fun of the Toyota Prius. They’re so green-savy and adorable! I think they even have those fluorescent energy efficient headlights. Speaking of Headlights (the band), will be playing The Bell House on Friday, April 24. Catch this fun, pop quartet at 8pm. Tickets are $10 and the show is 18+.
Saturday

To celebrate the launch of Topman Broadway & Broome St, we've teamed up with NYU, Pratt and Bard, to hold a one-off college radio show on Saturday. Students from Fordham can pick up free tickets to the gig from the Topman store on 24th April from 2pm - 7pm. Get down there early to avoid disappointment as tickets are limited and on a first come first served basis. College ID required. Crystal Stilts, Wavves, and These Are Powers are shredding.
Sunday

The Psychic Ills are currently researching lunar phases and the effects they have on the planet and its earthly beings. They will be conducting a scientific study on Sunday, April 26, at the Mercury Lounge. If you are interested in participating, it is requested that you show up at 7pm that night. Refreshments are not complimentary, but trance-y psychedelic music will be! Tickets are $10. 21+.
