Husky is not only a band; it also happens to be the first name of frontman Husky Gawenda who leads the Melbourne, Australia folk rock quartet which just released its debut, Forever So, Stateside.

Known for their rich harmonies, Husky has won fans thanks to opening slots with Laura Marling and Gotye. The band plays New York's Summerstage on August 18 — for Australia Day — and Joe's Pub on August 21; The Alternate Side is giving away tickets to catch this fast-rising band at Joe's Pub.
