A dynamic presence onstage, Welsh singer Marina Diamandis of Marina & The Diamonds has shouldered her share of comparisons to Florence Welch and Anna Calvi. But a ferocious new album, Electra Heart, has garnered her more mainstream notice; she's been topping the album charts in the UK and Ireland.

Marina & The Diamonds is touring the States and has sold out an August 18 gig at Webster Hall, but The Alternate Side has managed to score some tickets to give away.
