Watch Mumford & Sons Perform Live At WFUV's Studio A

Mumford & Sons are back with a second album, Babel, out today in the UK and Europe and tomorrow, September 25, in the States. The banjo-wielding band played "Saturday Night Live" over the weekend, but recently Marcus Mumford and his compadres made their way to the Bronx and stopped by WFUV's Studio A for a hearty, acoustic performance and interview with host Rita Houston. Listen to the session tomorrow night at 9 p.m. EDT on 90.7 WFUV (and streaming), right before TAS on FUV. Too impatient to wait? Watch videos of Mumford & Sons' three-song set from Babel after the jump.

Watch Husky's Cover Of Leonard Cohen's 'Lover Lover Lover' Live In Studio A

Folk rockers Husky are a long way from their Melbourne, Australia base these days; the band toured the States this summer supporting its debut album, Forever So, and they'll return in late October for headlining dates. The harmonizing quartet dropped by The Alternate Side recently to perform a set; we'll post that session later this fall, but we loved the band's acoustic, three-vocal version of Leonard Cohen's 1974 song "Lover Lover Lover."  Check out the video — an early preview of Husky's excellent session — after the jump.

First Listen: Dinosaur, Jr., 'I Bet On Sky'

I Bet on Sky, Dinosaur Jr.'s 10th studio album, knows where its strengths lie: namely, in volume, particularly when J Mascis lets his guitars speak and shout on his behalf. Listen to the album streaming now via WFUV and NPR prior to its release on September 18 on Jagjaguwar.

First Listen: Animal Collective's 'Centipede Hz'

Centipede Hz, released on September 4 in the States is jagged and assertive; it snarls and heaves, supported by electric musculature. The album captures the sound of studio wizards who are once again ready to unleash some sweaty savagery on the live stage. Listen to the album streaming now courtesy of WFUV and NPR Music.
