Watch Toro Y Moi Play 'Studies' In Studio A

Yes, Chaz Bundick of Toro Y Moi is burdened with that chillwave label, but his sleekly produced new album, Anything in Return, displays a more dance-infused, eclectic palette of funky production and breezy angles. Last week, Bundick and his Toro Y Moi bandmates visited The Alternate Side's Studio A. Watch an exclusive TAS video of one of the songs performed day — "Studies" — and we'll post the entire Toro Y Moi session next month.

Listen To Dinosaur Jr. Play 'Watch The Corners' Live For The Alternate Side

Earlier this month, Dinosaur Jr. took over Terminal 5 in New York for a fiery, joyfully loud, unforgettable show celebrating the 25th anniversary of the band's sophomore album, You're Living All Over Me — which they performed in its entirety — and invited a dazzling array of friends, from Johnny Marr to Kim Gordon to Broken Social Scene's Kevin Drew, to play with them. The trio also dropped by WFUV and The Alternate Side for a session  which airs on FUV's Words and Music in Studio A on January 7 at 9 p.m. EST, also streaming online,  but here's a sneak peek of Dinosaur Jr. ripping masterfully through "Watch The Corners" in Studio A.

Watch The Helio Sequence Perform 'Downward Spiral' At The Alternate Side

No, the Helio Sequence didn't quite experience "a slow-motion train wreck," as observed in the duo's song "Downward Spiral," but on the path towards their fifth album, Negotiations,  the duo faced some significant obstacles. Brandon Summers and Benjamin will embark on a U.S. tour with Shabazz Palaces in January and they recently dropped by The Alternate Side's Studio A for a session. Here's a tease: an exclusive video of the Helio Sequence performing "Downward Spiral" for The Alternate Side.

Watch The Kopecky Family Band Play 'Heartbeat' For The Alternate Side

Yes, Nashville's Kopecky Family Band might have a wholesome-sounding name, but this sextet of friends are ferocious road warriors, touring steadily for nearly five years before releasing a debut album, Kids Raising Kids, in October. They recently came by The Alternate Side's Studio A for a session that we'll post this winter; in the meantime, check out this TAS  live performance of the Kopecky Family Band with "Heartbeat."

Watch The Antlers Perform 'Drift Dive' in Studio A

One of The Alternate Side's favorite local bands, the Antlers, visited Studio A not long ago for a session which we'll air in early December. The trio will be playing the National-curated (and sold-out) All Tomorrow's Parties in Camber Sands, England from December 7-9, along with Sharon Van Etten, Wild Beasts, Local Natives and more. Watch the Antlers' live TAS performance of "Drift Dive," the title track of their most recent EP.
