Buffalo Eskimo
Bio
Buffalo Eskimo, formed in early 2007, is a five piece progressive rock band comprised of New York natives Kolson Pickard, Ian Reilly, Jack Reilly, Kevin Farrant, and David Maine. Shortly after forming, they began writing their first album, THE ELEPHANT IN THE ROOM, based on their mutual love for music and similar life philosophies. All of the members of Buffalo Eskimo are experienced musicians who for the past few years have performed and recorded with many other New York bands. This latest project, Buffalo Eskimo, is their biggest success. Buffalo Eskimo grew up in the creative community of Pleasantville, NY. Directly influenced by the subterranean artists around Westchester County as well as bands like The Beatles, Jeff Buckley, Radiohead, John Fruciante, Neutral Milk Hotel, and Motown, the band's sound is a home ground mix that combines honest poetry, catchy melodic lines, and a very developed sense of musicality. Each member is classically trained to perform different instruments like piano, trumpet, trombone, and classical percussion. When the band decided to focus on making rock music, classical training added a unique yet appealing sound to their life-inspired lyrics. Completed in Spring 2008, their debut album, THE ELEPHANT IN THE ROOM, is an independent effort that was recorded, produced, and designed by the members of Buffalo Eskimo. The boys have already received a lot of praise for their first album and frequent local college radio airwaves.Lately the band performs all over the east coast to promote their debut album. Their hopes of resonating with listeners and enjoying themselves simultaneously is their way of fulfilling the purpose of art and ultimately life. Buffalo Eskimo's goal is to continually make art and share it with the rest of the world.LISTEN TO MP3s
