Warpaint: TAS In Session

Tags: Warpaint

The second weekend of Coachella is upon us and Warpaint is on the bill. We've been caught in "The Undertow" of this L.A.-based band since 2010, when Warpaint released their excellent debut,The Fool. There is now a new, self-titled release which expands upon their atmospheric vibe. Although the band incorporated other sonic textures and a more meticulous approach to arrangment, Warpaint still maintains that same spooky vibe that filtered through their earlier work. Watch videos of Warpaint  performing in Studio A and listen to an interview with the band in the FUV Vault

The L.A. band's swirling sound is full of mysterious buzzes and coos, and there's a sense of everything-in-its-right-place grace and impeccability to it, yet the songs themselves never feel icy or distant. Warpaint's self-titled second album feels fashionable, sure, but not at the expense of approachability. Listen to Warpaint streaming now via FUV and NPR Music prior to the album's January 17 release.
