Win Tickets For tUnE-yArDs At Terminal 5 On June 1

Merrill Garbus, aka tUnE-yArDs, heads back to New York next month and there seems to be even more reason for the war paint she playfully streaks on her face; the woman is a real road warrior this summer, bound for U.S. and European festivals like Bonnaroo, Sasquatch!, and Lollapalooza. The Alternate Side is giving away tickets to tUnE-yArDs' Terminal 5 gig on June 1 where she'll be ably supported by experimental UK rockers Micachu and the Shapes and the African-influenced Delicate Steve.

The Black Keys, M83, PJ Harvey And More On TAS Staff's Best Of 2011

The Alternate Side staff both loves — and dreads — the annual rush of ubiquitous end-of-year lists, sifting through the best albums and singles of the twelve months gone by. There are usually far too many records or songs we'd like to mention, so consider the following just a start of what we really enjoyed in 2011, leaping from The Black Keys to tUnE-yArDs to Elbow to Little Dragon. And feel free to add your comments on what you liked too — we'd love to hear from you.

Download: Ad-Rock and Cut Chemist Remix tUnE-yArDs' "Gangsta"

Clever producer and singer tUnE-yArDs, the gutsy Merrill Garbus, has a pair of very cool names aboard her upcoming 12-inch single release of "Gangsta" - Cut Chemist and the Beastie Boys' Ad-Rock. Download Adam Horovitz' take on the whokill track after the jump.

Win Tix For tUnE-yArDs At MHOW on May 21

tUnE-yArDs' Merrill Garbus gleefully thrives on unpredictability and her sophomore album, WhoKill, is a sensational, sonic blast of styles and whims, from the percussive, siren-stoked howl of "Gangsta" to the delicate, winking groove of "Killa." The Alternate Side is giving away tickets to see Garbus' MHOW show on May 21 - don't miss it.
