The Strokes Release 'Comedown Machine' in March

Earlier this month, The Strokes stoked rumors of their imminent return with the release of a suspiciously A-ha nspired new song, "One Way Trigger," which fans can download for free for a limited time. This week, the band has announced full news of its fifth release, Comedown Machine, which comes out this March.

Apparently trying to follow the David Bowie stratagem of secrecy until the last minute — until their cover was blown — The Strokes have finally confirmed that they'll release a new single, "All The Time," from an upcoming fifth album.

TAS Ticket Giveaway: The Strokes At Madison Square Garden On April 1

The Strokes have announced a free show at SXSW on March 17, but if you can't make your way to Austin, we're giving away two pairs of tickets to see the band, on the brink of releasing its next album Angles,  play Madison Square Garden on April 1. In a video announcement made this morning by Conan O'Brien for the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival, Arcade Fire, Eminem, Widespread Panic, Buffalo Springfield, The Black Keys, My Morning Jacket, Robert Plant & Band of Joy, Lil Wayne, The Decemberists, Florence and The Machine and more will be descending on Manchester, Tennessee from June 9-12.

The Coachella Music and Arts Festival has unfurled its huge lineup and Kings of Leon, Arcade Fire, Kanye West and The Strokes will take on the mantle of headliners. The folks behind the Lollapalooza festival have revealed the event's 2010 lineup with the reunited Soundgarden, Broadway's Green Day, Arcade Fire, Lady Gaga, Phoenix and The Strokes as headliners. Other bands and artists include MGMT, Hot Chip, Yeasayer, Grizzly Bear, Devo, The National and the recently arrested Erykah Badu. The festival takes place August 6-8 in Chicago

Shhh! The Strokes Are Recording Their Fourth Album

After splitting off in different directions for solo projects, The Strokes have reconvened in New York's Avatar Studios to record their fourth studio album with producer Joe Chiccarelli (Beck, The White Stripes, U2).
