To nick from Public Image Ltd's recent single "One Drop,"  Johnny Lydon — born in London, somewhat ageless and coming from chaos — will be back in New York with his bandmates this fall to play Hammerstein Ballroom.. Yes, the lineup has fluctuated over the years, but the band's new album, This Is Pil, marks its first release of new music in two decades. The Alternate Side is giving away tickets to seen the snarling Mr. Rotten in all his punk godfather glory on October 13.

Record Store Day marks its fifth anniversary today, April 21, and across the US, UK, Europe and Canada, thousands of independent record shops — stubborn survivors of these hard economic times —  will be marking the day with special releases from hundreds of diverse bands and artists, like the White Stripes, Beach House, Animal Collective, Arcade Fire, St. Vincent, Miike Snow, Foster the People, Florence and the Machine, PiL, Arctic Monkeys, Shabazz Palaces,  Sigur Rós, M83, and hell, even Katy Perry.  in New York, local stores like Other Music, Sound Fix and J&R Music World will have special events marking the day.
