Wish you were in Barcelona at Primavera Sound right now, basking in the Spanish sun? So do we. Happily certain bands — like Wild Nothing which played Thursday afternoon — are allowing their sets to stream live via Primavera Sound's YouTube page. With a four-day televised lineup that includes Phoenix, Tame Impala, The Postal Service, the Jesus and Mary Chain, Animal Collective, James Blake, Hot Chip, Peace, Grizzly Bear and many more, that's pretty awesome.

Phoenix: TAS In Session

Phoenix has been spending a lot of time in New York of late — far removed from decent Parisian croissants — recording at Oscilloscope Laboratories, playing "Saturday Night Live" and "The Late Show with David Letterman," and doing loads of press for their new album, Bankrupt!. On Monday, May 13, Phoenix will play a sold-out show at the Apollo Theater with another date at the Barclays Center in October. The quartet chatted with The Alternate Side's Alisa Ali about an array of eclectic inspirations, zigzagging from the eBay pruchase of Michael Jackson's recording console to a tiny toy keyboard. Shut out of tickets for Phoenix's upcoming Apollo Theatre gig in New York? Some small solace might be found with the band's "Live on Letterman" webcast that Phoenix taped (in addition to an appearance on "The Late Show with David Letterman" on Monday night). Jay-Z's Made In America Festival returns to Philadelphia this summer with a lineup that includes — an easy booking for Jay — wife Beyoncé and his sister-in-law Solange as well as the resurrected Nine Inch Nails, Queen of the Stone Age, Phoenix, Public Enemy, Empire of the Sun, the Black Hippy crew (Kendrick Lamar, Schoolboy Q, Ab-Soul and Jay Rock), Miguel, AlunaGeorge, HAIM, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis and more. Tickets for the festival, which takes place on Labor Day weekend, are on sale now.

Phoenix Plays Free Show At Music Hall Of Williamsburg On April 5

Phoenix, set for Coachella next weekend, will play a free warm-up show at Music Hall of Williamsburg tonight, April 5, at 6 p.m. According to the band's Facebook page, a limited number of entry wristbands are available at the MHOW box office from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. EDT. First come first served. Phoenix release Bankrupt! in the States on April 23 (April 22 in the UK/EU).

The lineup for Britain's Glastonbury Festival, likely the most famous all of the outdoor festivals, will include headliners the Rolling Stones, Arctic Monkeys and Mumford & Sons on the Pyramid Stage, plus Vampire Weekend, Primal Scream, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Portishead, Public Enemy, Phoenix, Elvis Costello, The xx, Cat Power, Dizzee Rascal, Foals, Johnny Marr, Dinosaur Jr., and many more. The iconic festival, currently sold-out, takes place June 28-30 on Worthy Farm in Somerset, England.

The release of Phoenix's Bankrupt! is a little over a month away and, to accompany the band's first single, "Entertainment," there's now a video. The clip, directed by Patrick Daughters (Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Feist) is a breathless mix of virtually every Asian cinema trope imagineable, including a faux Phoenix in concert. It might not make much sense, but it's certainly steeped in intrigue.

Phoenix Reveal New Single Called 'Entertainment'

Just called Indio, California "Little Britain" this spring. Coachella's 2013 lineup has a heavy influx of UK bands like the Stone Roses — that band's first Stateside gigs since reforming last year — Blur, New Order, the xx, Hot Chip, Franz Ferdinand, Jessie Ware, Foals, James Blake, Johnny Marr, Two Door Cinema Club and more. Plenty of non-Brits are also on board, with Phoenix, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Wu-Tang Clan, Modest Mouse, Postal Service, Grizzly Bear, Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds, Sigur Rós, Tame Impala and more also slated for two consecutive weekends, April 12-14 and 19-21.

Phoenix To Release Next Album This Spring

As first revealed by the French band's American label and then, cryptically, by the band itself, Phoenix will return this spring with the followup to the group's 2009 album Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix. The band itself teased the impending release with a brief note to fans on its Facebook page on Friday morning.

The folks behind the Lollapalooza festival have revealed the event's 2010 lineup with the reunited Soundgarden, Broadway's Green Day, Arcade Fire, Lady Gaga, Phoenix and The Strokes as headliners. Plus, it's our birthday - The Alternate Side is a year old today - so we're feeling especially merry and celebratory.
