Phoenix, Surfer Blood, Four Tet, UNKLE, Ghostface Killah, POBPAH Set For CMJ Music Marathon

An international flock of bands is slated to come to New York from October 19-23 for the CMJ Music Marathon and the officially announced bands and artists include Phoenix, Surfer Blood, The Drums, School of Seven Bells, Ghosface Killah, The Pains of Being Pure At Heart, UNKLE, Four Tet, Greg Dulli and scores more. Get ready for bedlam.

Lollapalooza 2010 Lineup: Soundgarden, Arcade Fire, Green Day, The Strokes, Lady Gaga And Phoenix

The folks behind the Lollapalooza festival have revealed the event's 2010 lineup with the reunited Soundgarden, Broadway's Green Day, Arcade Fire, Lady Gaga, Phoenix and The Strokes as headliners. Other bands and artists include MGMT, Hot Chip, Yeasayer, Grizzly Bear, Devo, The National and the recently arrested Erykah Badu. The festival takes place August 6-8 in Chicago

The Alternate Side Staff Picks Our Favorite Albums of 2009 ... And The Decade

It's not easy to choose your favorite albums or singles of 2009, let alone the entire decade. But we, the staff of The Alternate Side, did our best and though our minds might change tomorrow, this is how it stands for today. A quick survey of everyone's lists has one constant on five out of six lists: Phoenix's Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix. Plus, it's our birthday - The Alternate Side is a year old today - so we're feeling especially merry and celebratory.

Thomas Mars and Christian Mazzalai from the French band Phoenix stopped by The Alternate Side the other day to talk about their new album Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix which comes out at the end of the month. Like their other albums, this one is filled with masterful little gems that are great for parties and driving fast.
