Portishead And ATP Offer Free Mixtape To Mark Asbury Park Shows

The Portishead-curated All Tomorrow's Parties' sister festival, I'll Be Your Mirror, takes place September 30-October 2 in Asbury Park, New Jersey. To mark that auspicious occasion, the band and ATP are offering up a free mixtape download of some of the bands and musicians appearing, like Neutral Milk Hotel, A Hawk And A Hacksaw, Mogwai, Swans, Battles, The Album Leaf, Anika and - of course - Portishead. More details on how to download the two-and-a-half hour mixtape after the jump.

Mogwai, Ultramagnetic MC's, More Added to Portishead-Curated ATP

Mogwai, the classic lineup of Ultramagnetic MC's, The Pop Group, The Horrors, Silver Mt. Zion and others have been added to the inaugural ATP I'll Be Your Mirror US event in Asbury Park this fall. The event, curated by Portishead, is sold out of three day passes, but single day passes are now available. But you're out of luck if you were hoping to catch Neutral Milk Hotel's Jeff Mangum at the Paramount Theater.

TAS Interview: Scott Hutchison of Frightened Rabbit

Scottish rockers Frightened Rabbit hit a slight volcanic hitch delaying their North American tour - they were stranded at Heathrow Airport for days, wryly tweeting of their discontent. The quartet is finally on this side of the pond, catching up on lost time. Recently, The Alternate Side caught up with singer and songwriter Scott Hutchison who revealed his sunnier aspirations for the band's third album, The Winter of Mixed Drinks, and admitted that the best advice he's ever received was "don't be bitter." Even over Icelandic volcanos.
