Bon Iver, Radiohead, Foster The People, The Black Keys Among Grammy Nominees

The moment that Lady Gaga, wearing a garbage can lid and shellacked like an escapee from a Día de los Muertos parade, kicked off the "The Grammy Nominations Concert Live!" this evening, November 30, on CBS, you sensed that the parade of mainstream's usual suspects would prevail. Happily, despite expected nods for Top 40 queen bees Katy Perry and Rihanna and the frustrating dependence on 2010 releases (Mumford & Sons again?), nominations for Bon Iver, Radiohead and My Morning Jacket also nudged their way into the madding crowd. The 54th annual Grammy Awards will be held on February 12 in Los Angeles.

TAS And WFUV Bonnaroo Coverage 2011

Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival weekend is here at last and it's hot as hell in New York, just like Manchester, Tennessee. If you follow Team TAS and Team WFUV's coverage, plus check out Bonnaroo's own Vevo stream, you'll have all the coverage you'll need in the air-conditioned comfort of home (and you won't have to snooze in a muddy tent either). After the jump, all you'll need to know about The Alternate Side's Bonnaroo coverage 2011.

Arcade Fire, Laura Marling, Mumford & Sons Among Winners At The Brits

It's been a weird and wonderful week for Arcade Fire as the Canadian band, fresh off their big Grammy win on Sunday, took home more awards at The Brits, the UK's version of the Grammys, on Tuesday night. Other winners included Laura Marling, Mumford & Sons, Cee Lo Green, Plan B, Tinie Tempah and Rihanna.

TAS Interview: The Middle East

Instrumentally precocious, folk-kissed rock septet The Middle East made their much buzzed-about North American debut at SXSW in March. The Aussie band, whose EP The Recordings of the Middle East dropped Stateside in late fall 2009, will make their Glastonbury Festival debut this weekend. The Alternate Side connected with singer and guitarist Jordan Ireland and learned about the status of the band's much-anticipated new album and why acoustic guitar might be "done" for the group ... for now.

Bonnaroo Festival Launches YouTube Stream

If you're determined to catch a few Bonnaroo appearances via YouTube, the festival's official channel is open for business. The quality of the stream isn't always great, but if you're willing to withstand a few glitches to see Jay-Z and Norah Jones (not together, though that might be intriguing), we have the link and schedule after the jump.
