Okay, a fine reason to endure the Hampton jitney this summer: Vampire Weekend and Bright Eyes will headline the MTK: Music To Know Festival on August 13-14 in East Hampton, Long Island with Cold War Kids, Chromeo, Tame Impala, Matt & Kim, Ra Ra Riot, The Naked and Famous, M. Ward and more joining the lineup. Tickets go on sale today, May 10.

Yes, it will be as hot as hell tomorrow, Saturday, July 17, but hardy souls - like The Alternate Side's own Alisa Ali - will be heading to Coney Island for the fantastic and extremely free 10th annual Siren Festival. The awesome. noisy and thoughtful lineup includes The Pains of Being Pure At Heart, Matt & Kim, Ted Leo and the Pharmacists, Holy F***, Cymbals Eat Guitars, Screaming Females, Earl Greyhound and more. The folks behind the Lollapalooza festival have revealed the event's 2010 lineup with the reunited Soundgarden, Broadway's Green Day, Arcade Fire, Lady Gaga, Phoenix and The Strokes as headliners. Other bands and artists include MGMT, Hot Chip, Yeasayer, Grizzly Bear, Devo, The National and the recently arrested Erykah Badu. The festival takes place August 6-8 in Chicago
