Well here's a trinity of three popular and edgier "mainstream" acts heading to New York next month: Foster the People, The Kooks and Gotye's pal Kimbra. They'll all be playing a sold-out show at Central Park's Rumsey Playfield on May 30. And does The Alternate Side love you? Yes we do. That's why we're giving you the chance to win tickets (and bragging rights) to the show.

TAS In Session: The Kooks

Tags: The Kooks

One of Britain's most successful young bands, The Kooks have  experienced dramatic highs and lows since their precocious, quadruple platinum U.K. debut in 2006. Consider the release of their third album, Junk of the Heart, a definite high: the album has sailed into the top ten album charts in fifteen counties. The Kooks launch a North American tour in November, playing New York's Webster Hall on November 15 and 16. Not long ago, The Kooks' singer and songwriter Luke Pritchard and guitarist Hugh Harris dropped by WFUV and The Alternate Side for a very special acoustic set, playing new songs like "Junk of the Heart (Happy)" and "Rosie." Catch the full interview airing on TAS' sister station 90.7 WFUV tonight, September 26, at 9 p.m.

The Alternate Side is a proud part of WFUV Public Radio from Fordham University,
