Karen O Announces Limited Tour Dates

Ahead of the release of her first solo album, Crush Songs, in September, Karen O has announced "intimate" shows in New York, London, Los Angeles and Berlin. The Yeah Yeah Yeahs frontwoman will play four shows in New York: at the Manderley Bar at the McKittrick Hotel (September 9-11) and in the round at Le Poisson Rouge, on September 12. Tickets for all of Karen O's shows go on sale this Friday, August 15, at various times depending on the city (3p.m. EDT in New York).

Karen O To Release Her Solo Debut In September

Yeah Yeah Yeahs frontwoman Karen O will release her debut solo album, called Crush Songs, via Julian Casablancas' Cult Label on September 9 in the States (September 8 in the UK). In a note she posted about the project's songs, Karen O calls the album a "soundtrack to what was an ever continuing love crusade" of crushes during the singer's late 20s. 

Trent Reznor Tweets Label Info For The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo Score

The score for the David Fincher remake of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, composed by Oscar-winners Trent Reznor and Atticus Finch, will see release outside of North America via Mute, tweeted Reznor on Monday night. 

David Lynch Releases Mixtape Prior To Debut Album

Abstruse and surrealistic director David Lynch, who takes off on a new creative trajectory next week with the release of his first solo album, Crazy Clown Time, has released a mixtape with his collaborator and engineer "Big" Dean Hurley.  Their selection includes tracks from The Kills (covering Jonathan Fire*Eater), James Blake, Elvis Presley, Gnarls Barkley and more. Karen O Does Fast Food Film and Debuts Her Psycho Opera

Yeah Yeah Yeahs' Karen O certainly has highbrow and lowbrow interests these days. The raven-haired rock singer just covered a song made famous by Willie Nelson and Waylon Jennings for a short film for fast food chain Chipotle, plus her opera, "Stop The Virgens," premiered at Brooklyn's St. Ann's Warehouse, last night, October 12. The Yeah Yeah Yeahs' Karen O is working with Obie-winning playwright Adam Rapp (Red Light Winter, Hallway Trilogy) on a brand new, still-untitled opera that will make its debut at Brooklyn's St. Ann's Warehouse this October in a collaborative production with The Creators Project.

Trent Reznor, Karen O Cover Led Zeppelin For The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo

The red band trailer for David Fincher's English-language adaption of Stieg Larsson's The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo is out and it features the Yeah Yeah Yeahs' Karen O and Oscar-winner Trent Reznor blasting through a cover of Led Zeppelin's 1970 missile, "The Immigrant Song."
