Over the course of their brief career,  British rockers The Horrors have restlessly experimented with their sound. Their most recent release, the radiant, New Wave-nudged Skying, is one of the most beautiful albums of 2011. The quintet return to the New York area this weekend to play the Portishead-curated ATP Festival in Asbury Park on October 1 and Manhattan's Webster Hall on October 4. After the jump, check out the four-song set they played for The Alternate Side - including a majestic 10-minute-plus jam of "Moving Further Away." In honor of this weekend's ATP Festival, the Portishead-curated "I'll Be Your Mirror" event kicking off tomorrow, September 30, in Asbury Park, New Jersey, The Alternate Side's Russ Borris and Alisa Ali worked with NPR Music on creating a special ATP mix. The artists and bands include Portishead (naturally), Neutral Milk Hotel, Public Enemy, The Horrors, Swans, Battles and many more. The Horrors, those goth-garbed, melodically-astute post punks from Essex, England, have returned with a very strong third album, Skying, which will be released August 9 via XL Recordings in the States (July 11 in the UK),  but you can listen to the album now on the band's site.
