The folks behind the Lollapalooza festival have revealed the event's 2010 lineup with the reunited Soundgarden, Broadway's Green Day, Arcade Fire, Lady Gaga, Phoenix and The Strokes as headliners. Other bands and artists include MGMT, Hot Chip, Yeasayer, Grizzly Bear, Devo, The National and the recently arrested Erykah Badu. The festival takes place August 6-8 in Chicago

Aside from the New Orleans Saints' miracle in Miami (which even inspired Prince to tweet his approval), David Letterman's bit of fifteen-second brilliance, and The Who's grizzled and predictable medley of halftime hits, one of the nicer Superbowl surprises was to hear Arcade Fire and Grizzly Bear added to the commercial mix.

It's not easy to choose your favorite albums or singles of 2009, let alone the entire decade. But we, the staff of The Alternate Side, did our best and though our minds might change tomorrow, this is how it stands for today. A quick survey of everyone's lists has one constant on five out of six lists: Phoenix's Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix. Plus, it's our birthday - The Alternate Side is a year old today - so we're feeling especially merry and celebratory.
