Sounding almost post-apocalyptic in its scabrous, searching bleakness, The Terror moans and scrapes ominously from its opening seconds onward. But the album still finds a way to reward deeper exploration, as cracked loveliness seeps into moments that soar tentatively. The Flaming Lips Ready 'The Terror' For An April Release

Always merry pranksters, the Flaming Lips claim that their upcoming album The Terror won't be that cheerful. Frontman Wayne Coyne calls the album, due out on April 1 via Warner Brothers and Bella Union, a "bleak, disturbing record."  

The Flaming Lips Determined To Break Jay-Z's Guinness World Record

Those kooky rock 'n' roll kids. First Jack White pokes fun at the Guinness World Record folks with a mostly-in-jest attempt to jam as many metaphors as he can into a single concert and now the Flaming Lips have declared their intention to take down Jay-Z's 2006 Guinness world record of playing the most live gigs in 24 hours in multiple cities. They'll even stream it all live on June 27.
