Lollapalooza Taps Foo Fighters, Eminem, Muse and Coldplay

This year's lineup for Chicago's Lollapalooza Festival was announced last night, April 25, and while Eminem, Foo Fighters, Coldplay and Muse might not be the most creative of headlining choices, the presence of bands like My Morning Jacket, Bright Eyes, Arctic Monkeys, Cults, Friendly Fires, Cold War Kids, Beirut, The Kills and Crystal Castles should make for an interesting weekend. Lollapalooza takes place from August 5-7 and three-day passes are still available.

Rapper Nate Dogg Dead At 41

Rapper Nate Dogg, who possessed one of West Coast hip hop's most distinctive voices, died on Tuesday in Long Beach, California after combatting severe health setbacks over the past few years, including two strokes. Nate Dogg, born Nathaniel Hale, was 41.

You have to hand it to both Arcade Fire's fervent fans and the staff of the band's record label, Merge, who campaigned tirelessly on behalf of the Canadian group's possible sales triumph over Slim Shady. But the Soundscan results are in and yeah, Arcade Fire smacked down Eminem and will be No. 1 on next week's Billboard Top 100 Album Chart with The Suburbs.
