EMA: TAS In Session

Erika M. Anderson, better known by her stage name of EMA, released her third full-length album, The Future's Void, earlier this year. The new record showcases a new side to EMA which includes more electronic layers and science fiction-inspired lyrics. EMA will be playing Bowery Ballroom on October 5, but not long ago she stopped by Studio A to play us some of the new songs and talk about the record. Watch a video of EMA in Studio A, listen to the interview in the FUV Vault now or on TAS on 91.5 WNYE today, August 15, at 11a.m. EDT, also streaming online.

Male Bonding and EMA Releasing Nirvana Cover Split Single

There's a certain brutality, both stealth and explosive, that propels EMA's compelling debut album, Past Lives Martyred Saints. Behind the acronym is former Gowns guitarist Erika M. Anderson whose fondness for daring declarations and snarled restraint makes her a compelling, even controversial, songwriter. EMA, who plays New York's Webster Hall on October 22, recently dropped by The Alternate Side for a rather revealing session which you can hear on 91.5 WNYE today, October 7, at 11 a.m. and streaming on TAS. After the jump, check out exclusive audio of "Marked" and "Anteroom."

The Alternate Side is a proud part of WFUV Public Radio from Fordham University,
