The Cure Set To Release Live Double Album For Charity In December

The Cure, who kick off their brief "Reflections" tour on November 15 in London and arrive in New York for three shows at the Beacon Theatre, November 25-27, will release a live double album on December 5 documenting the band's powerful, nearly 3-hour set at this summer's Bestival 2011 on the tiny Isle of Wight. The album will be released on the indie Sunday Best label, owned by Bestival organizer Rob da Bank, and it will benefit a local charity, the Isle of Wight Youth Trust. The Cure To Play First Three Albums In Their Entirety in New York, London and Los Angeles

Earlier this spring, the Cure trekked to Australia's Vivid Festival to play their first three albums - Three Imaginary Boys (1979), Seventeen Seconds (1980) and Faith (1981) in sequence and in their entirety with former and present members of the band. Now, that special concert event, called "Reflections,"  will be coming to London, New York and Los Angeles this November.

The Cure, who were only slated to play Bestival this year, have announced a trek to the Vivid Live festival in Sydney on May 31-June 1 to play their first three albums, Three Imaginary Boys (1979), Seventeen Seconds (1980) and Faith (1981) in their entirety. The two nights, called "Reflections," will be taped for DVD and will resurrect most of the band's original lineup, including founding member Lol Tolhurst. Plus, Spiritualized, Bat For Lashes, Cut Copy and more added to Vivid Live lineup.
