Jagjaguwar Pays Tribute To Women Guitarist Chris Reimer With Streams On February 29

Jagjaguwar, the label home of the band Women, will pay tribute to that band's late guitarist Chris Reimer today, February 29, at 3 p.m. EST with back-to-back streams of Women's two albums, the group's 2008 self-titled debut and 2010's Public Strain, on the label's website. As The Alternate Side reported last week, Reimer died on February 21 in his sleep from what has now been determined to be complications of a heart condition.

Women Guitarist Chris Reimer Dies At 26

Sad news. Guitarist Chris Reimer of the Calgary band Women died in his sleep on February 21 at the age of 26. Pitchfork reported Reimer's passing which was confirmed by the band's label, Jagjaguwar, this morning. Women, which released two albums, had cancelled their European tour in November 2010 citing stress after a public onstage brawl between band members.
