Lucy Rose: North American Tour Blog

Fans of Bombay Bicycle Club became familiar with Lucy Rose as the fetching vocalist backing Jack Steadman, but the 23-year-old, flame-haired singer has struck out on her own. She signed, impressively, with Columbia Records last year and released her tender and wistful debut, Like I Used To, in September in the UK. Her EP, Middle of the Bed, is out now in the States. Lucy Rose, who begins a UK tour tomorrow, April 19recently embarked on her first North American road trip — including a stop at SXSW — and blogged about her adventures for The Alternate Side.

TAS In Session Flashback 2012: Part One

Over the past year, The Alternate Side staff has relished the chance to interview dozens of bands, hailing from all over the world, from Stockholm, Sweden (Niki & The Dove) to Ballarat, Australia (Gold Fields) to Omaha, Nebraska (Icky Blossoms). We loved all of the interviews we did with bands and over the next two weeks, we'll look back at some of those sessions — and live performance videos — that were most meaningful to us in 2012 and report on what's coming up for those bands in 2013. A big thanks to WFUV/The Alternate Side's outstanding engineering and video teams too.

The British quartet just wrapped a swing through the States in support of 2011's A Different Kind of Fix and, despite getting slightly lost on their way to the Bronx, the band made it to The Alternate Side's Studio A for a brilliant session. Watch the videos of their four-song set and listen to the session when it airs on TAS on 91.5 WNYE this Friday, August 17 at 11 a.m. EDT, also streaming on the TAS site.
