Blur Announces Additional UK Dates

While it seemed likely that the only chance to see Blur play live this summer would be at Sweden's Way Out Festival, the weekend of August 9-11, or London's Hyde Park on August 12, marking the closing ceremonies of the 2012 Olympics, the quartet announced additional "warming up" dates via their website on Sunday night.

PJ Harvey, Bon Iver, Elbow, Arctic Monkeys, The Vaccines and Feist are among the nominees for the 2012 Brit Awards, the UK's equivalent of the Grammy. The awards will be handed out on February 21 in London with Florence and the Machine, Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds and Blur, with their first live appearance in three years, slated to perform.

TAS In Session: Erland And The Carnival

Psychedelic folk rockers Erland and the Carnival release their second album Nightingale this March and recently the London-based band - which includes Scottish singer and songwriter Erland Cooper, guitarist Simon Tong (Gorillaz, Blur, The Verve, The Good, The Bad & The Queen), and drummer David Nock (Paul McCartney, The Orb) - visited The Alternate Side to play a few tracks from their eponymous debut album and new EP Trouble in Mind, including "You Don't Have To Be Lonely" and "Everything Came Too Easy."
