Northside Festival Adds Body/Head, Majical Cloudz, Bleached And More

The Northside Festival has added Kim Gordon and Bill Nace's Body/Head, Majical Cloudz, Bleached, A Place To Bury Strangers, Chance the Rapper, Young Magic and a long list of other bands to a lineup that already includes The Walkmen, Son Volt, Swans, the reformed Black Flag (Greg Ginn and the Jealous Again lineup) and more. The festival takes place June 13-16 and FUV's The Alternate Side will co-present Lambchop's show on June 16.

Beastie Boys On Track To Release New Album This Spring

Mike D confirms that while Hot Sauce Committee Pt  1 is still delayed, the Beastie Boys will release Hot Sauce Committee Pt 2 this spring following bandmate Adam Yauch's good news regarding his cancer battle. Although plans for touring are still sketchy, a new video is in the works. UPDATE: Yauch has issued a statement explaining that he's not cancer-free following erroneous reports.

Bright Eyes Give Away "Shell Games" From Their Upcoming Album

Bright Eyes don't release their seventh studio album, The People's Key,  until February 15, but the band is offering up their first single, "Shell Games," for free on the band's label website.

TAS In Session: Erland And The Carnival

Psychedelic folk rockers Erland and the Carnival release their second album Nightingale this March and recently the London-based band - which includes Scottish singer and songwriter Erland Cooper, guitarist Simon Tong (Gorillaz, Blur, The Verve, The Good, The Bad & The Queen), and drummer David Nock (Paul McCartney, The Orb) - visited The Alternate Side to play a few tracks from their eponymous debut album and new EP Trouble in Mind, including "You Don't Have To Be Lonely" and "Everything Came Too Easy."
