Metric Releases New Single, Sets U.S. tour

There seems to be a palpable buzz — and some degree of coy secrecy — about Metric's upcoming album, their fifth, called Synthetica. Those wily Canadians don't release the record until June 12, but they've finally unleashed a single, "Youth Without Youth," out today, and they have also announced tour dates. Note Metric's impressive upgrade to New York's Radio City Music Hall and check out the single after the jump.

After a five-year gap, Chromatics finally return with Kill For Love and take on the TAS top 20 while Santigold remains queen of the album chart for a second week.

Doomtree: TAS In Session

The Twin Cities hip hop scene has local luminaries like Atmosphere and Har Mar Superstar, but the rap collective Doomtree claims a strong mix of that region's most notable MCs and producers. The six-man, one-woman crew released its second "official" album, No Kings, last fall, which they call their first truly collaborative effort. Recently the septet, which kicks off a UK/European tour this week, visited Studio A for a terrific, fun session that airs on TAS on 91.5 WNYE and streams on the TAS site this Friday, May 4 at 11 a.m. EDT. My Morning Jacket Announce More Summer Tour Dates, Brooklyn Stop In August

In addition to a batch of festivals beginning this month, My Morning Jacket will extend their tour into August. They'll bring along Band of Horses for most dates and Shabazz Palaces, Trampled by Turtles and Trombone Shorty for other selected dates, including a stop at Brooklyn's Williamsburg Park (with Shabazz Palaces) on August 19. Tickets go on sale for the shows, many of them benefitting charities, for fanclub members on Wednesday with sales for the general public beginning this weekend. The band is also giving away a free MP3 of "Wonderful (The Way I Feel)" featuring Band of Horses' Ben Bridwell.
