The TAS Top 20 For The Week Ending October 5

TAS favorites Stars and Ariel Pink return to the Top 20 chart with Banks threading her way to No. 1.

Money Ticket Giveaway: Mercury Lounge On September 4

Manchester's Money released their auspicious debut, The Shadow of Heaven, a year ago in the UK on Bella Union, but the album was just released in the States this year. It's a stately, atmospheric, moody and sometimes profane collection of songs and the quartet rightly earned some of the best reviews of any British debut over the last year. Money will travel to New York later this summer and The Alternate Side is giving away pairs of tickets to their Mercury Lounge show on September 4. Enter for a chance to see Money by this Sunday, August 10, at 5p.m. EDT.

Rudimental Ticket Giveaway: Terminal 5 On September 5

Rudimental, the Brit Award-winning London collective, also earned a Mercury Prize nomination for Home, their 2013 UK chart-topping debut. The group will be far from home and in New York next month for a gig at Terminal 5 on September 5. The Alternate Side is giving away tickets to Rudimental's show, so be prepared for some sweaty, soulful dancing. Enter by this Sunday, August 10, at 5p.m. EDT for a chance to snag a pair of tickets.

White Denim Ticket Giveaway: Music Hall Of Williamsburg On September 10

Capable of making both brawling and beautiful music, sprawled across genres, White Denim's psychedelic pop, blues and jazz-inflected rock reaches a satisfying apex in the Austin band's most recent release, Corsicana Lemonade. White Denim takes over Music Hall of Williamsburg in September for three shows and The Alternate Side is giving away tickets to the quartet's September 10 date. Want to go? Fill out the entry form by this Sunday, August 10, at 5p.m. EDT.

tUnE-yArDs: TAS In Session

One of the most unique acts to emerge over the last five years, tUnE-yArDs is helmed by singer and multi-instrumentalist Merrill Garbus who, along with her longtime collaborator Nate Brenner, writes carnivalistic, polyrhythmic, genre-blurring music with gleeful abandon. This year, Garbus and her bandmates released their third album, Nikki Nack, and the deeply personal collection thrives on the band’s spirited Afrocentric beats, exuberant chants and jazzy, funked-out strut, all driven by the indefatigable charisma of a Mardi Gras krewe. Watch videos of tUnE-yArDs' visit to FUV's Studio A and listen to the session now in the FUV Vault or via TAS on 91.5 WNYE on Friday, August 1, at 11a.m. EDT, also streaming online.

TV On The Radio Return With An Album This Fall

TV on the Radio will return this autumn with a new album called Seeds, the band's first since the 2011's Nine Types of Light and the passing of bassist Gerard Smith. The album will also be released on a new label for the group, Harvest Records. TV on the Radio have unveiled a video teaser for Seeds.
