School Of Seven Bells Will Release A Final Benjamin Curtis Recording

Last December, School of Seven Bells guitarist and producer Benjamin Curtis died after a ten-month battle with T-cell lymphoblastic lymphoma. His final recording, done on his laptop from his hospital bed with bandmate Alejandra Deheza,, was a stirring cover of Joey Ramone's "I Got Knocked Down (But I'll Get Up)." Deheza is releasing the single tomorrow, June 24. The video for the School of Seven Bells' single, directed by Toby Halbrooks and Alan Del Rio Ortiz, will be released on June 25, but you can watch a preview of it now.

The National kicked off the first of three nights at Celebrate Brooklyn with an amazing performance in front of a sold out crowd in Prospect Park. The band ran through a nearly two hour set filled with fan favorites like "Bloodbuzz Ohio" and "Fake Empire" while mixing in some great surprises, too.
