The Antlers: TAS In Session

The Antlers first started making real traction in 2009 when they released their third full-length album, Hospice. As the title suggests, that record dealt with some pretty weighty subject matter, but it was presented in such a moving way that it was impossible not to get swept away by it. Since then, the Brooklyn trio has continued to hone their craft of creating stirring sonic landscapes. The Antlers' latest release, Familiars, is a thoughtful and deliberately-paced collection of songs that instills calmness and warmth. Watch videos of The Antlers during their recent visit to Studio A and listen to the entire session now in the FUV Vault or on TAS on 91.5 WNYE on Friday, June 25, at 11a.m., EDT, also streaming online.

NO: TAS In Session

Yes, there are two Los Angeles bands that carry the Google-proof moniker of NO, but we're smitten with the resilient Echo Park sextet that released its debut, El Prado, earlier this year on Arts & Crafts. The group is in New York this week supporting Yann Tiersen at Highline Ballroom, but earlier this spring, NO said yes to a Studio A pilgramage for a session and conversation. Watch videos of NO playing two songs from El Prado and listen to the session at any time in the FUV Vault or on TAS on 91.5 WNYE today, May 30, at 11a.m. EDT, also streaming online.

Aimee Mann and Ted Leo, no strangers to wry, pointed lyricism, have shrewdly partnered as The Both. Their self-titled collaborative album—chock full of smart, sharp observations on life and relationships—is out now. The songs on The Both (plus a Thin Lizzy cover) encapsulate the strong friendship that bonds these two fearless songwriters. Mann and Leo brought their brio and bravado to FUV Live at Rockwood Music Hall last month and you can watch videos of The Both in concert and listen to the entire set now in the FUV Vault.
