Blur Debuts New Songs Live Via Twitter On July 2

Next Monday, July 2, at 6:15 p.m. BST — that's 1:15 p.m. EDT and 10:15 a.m. PDT  — Blur will debut two new songs, "Under The Westway" and "The Puritan," playing them live in a "secret location" and enabling fans to watch via a live video streaming on the band's official Twitter account.

The second live performance will stream at 7:15 p.m. BST, 2:15 EDT and 11:15 a.m. PDT.

Both songs will also be available as a download following the event. A limited edition, 7-inch double-A side will be released on August 6 on Parlophone, prefacing the band's short run of UK dates and a sold-out gig with New Order, The Specials and Bombay Bicycle Club at London's Hyde Park on August 12, coinciding with the 2012 Olympics Closing Ceremonies.

Below, Alex James explains Blur's "Twitter cast."
