Sigur Rós

First Listen: Sigur Rós And 'Valtari'

Sigur Rós has returned, in full Icelandic splendor, after a hiatus of four years with Valtari, out on May 29. Preview the album now via The Alternate Side's sister station WFUV and NPR Music.

Stephen Thompson of NPR observes: "Rather than getting bogged down in Valtari's place on the Sigur Rós continuum — basically, it fits right in the band's most comfortable sweet spot — it's better to bask in the album's almost overwhelming beauty."
