Arctic Monkeys, Modest Mouse, Best Coast Tapped For New Metallica-Founded Festival

Arctic Monkeys, Modest Mouse, Best Coast, Avenged Sevenfold and Cage The Elephant are among the diverse bands slated to kick off Orion Music + More, a new music and arts festival founded by, surprise, Metallica. Hard rock's heavyhitters will headline both nights of the two-day festival, which takes place the weekend of June 23-24 in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

Tickets go on sale to the public on Saturday, February 11 at 10 a.m. but pre-sale for Metallica club members begins Wednesday, February 8.

Additional bands and artists include The Gaslight Anthem,  F**ked Up, Hot Snakes, Titus Andronicus, Gary Clark Jr., Lucero, Roky Erickson, The Black Angels, The Sword and Liturgy. More addtions are expected in the coming weeks (and might  Lou Reed, conspicuously not announced, and Metallica reprise songs from Lulu?).

For more information and ticket-buying details, head to Orion Music + More's website. A two-day pass is $150, including all fees.

Metallica chatted about the festival and their reasons for doing it in a video, below.
