Beastie Boys, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Guns N' Roses Get Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame Nod

Elbowing past other worthy, long-listed nominees like the Cure and Eric B. and Rakim, the Beastie Boys, Guns N' Roses and Red Hot Chili Peppers are among the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's latest inductees, to be formally honored as the class of 2012 on April 14 in in Cleveland.

The show will be broadcast on HBO in May.

Other inductees include Donovan, the late Laura Nyro and the Small Faces (along with The Faces, led by Rod Stewart). Late blues guitarist Freddie King, aka "the Texas Cannonball,"  will be honored as an "early influence" and the late rock promoter Don Kirshner, who created the Monkees and TV's "Don Kirshner's Rock Concert," will also be inducted. Kirshner died in January.
