The Cure To Play First Three Albums In Their Entirety in New York, London and Los Angeles
Earlier this spring, the Cure trekked to Australia's Vivid Festival to play their first three albums - Three Imaginary Boys (1979), Seventeen Seconds (1980) and Faith (1981) in sequence and in their entirety with former and present members of the band. Now, that special concert event, called "Reflections," will be coming to London, New York and Los Angeles this November.
The band, whose only other 2011 gig was Bestival in the UK a few weeks ago, announced on their website that the three-city tour will mark the "seven final performances" of "Reflections." will play London's Royal Albert Hall on November 15, Los Angeles' Pantages Theater from November 21-23 and New York's Beacon Theater just after Thanksgiving, from November 25-27. Tickets for the London show go on sale this Friday, September 30 while the Los Angeles and New York shows go on sale on October 31 at 10 a.m. via Ticketmaster (with a two ticket per person limit).
Robert Smith and his shifting lineup of compadres were nominated for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this week, part of a longlist that includes Guns N' Roses, Erik B & Rakim, Beastie Boys, Donna Summer, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts and The Small Faces/Faces. The final five inductees will be chosen prior to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ceremony on April 14, 2012.
The four-part sets (which will also include other Cure songs in the encores segment) and rotating band members will look like this:
