Amy Winehouse's Toxicology Results Show No Illegal Drugs Used

Toxicology results released to Amy Winehouse's family reveal that the singer, who died last month in London, had taken "no illegal substances." The BBC reports that while alcohol was determined to be in her system, it's unclear if that played a role in her sudden passing. There will be a further inquest into Winehouse's death in October.

Winehouse, who died on July 23 at the age of 27, had long struggled with drug and alcohol addiction but was said to be making an effort at sobriety, although a drunken appearance at a concert in Serbia in June led to the cancellation of her so-called comeback tour.

The Winehouse family's official statement also read:"The family would like to thank the police and coroner for their continuing thorough investigations and for keeping them informed throughout the process. They await the outcome of the inquest in October."
