Heeding Facebook requests to come to Madison, Wisconsin to join protesters converging on the state capitol, the political activist, musician and former Rage Against the Machine and Audioslave guitarist Tom Morello will play a concert this Monday, February 21, in Capitol Square called "Rally for Wisconsin's Workers."

He'll be joined at the rally by Wayne Kramer of The MC's, Rise Against's Tim McIlrath, Against Me's Tom Cabel and The Streetdogs, featuring Mike McColgan, former lead singer of Dropkick Murphys. Performances and rallies will take place at noon and 5 p.m. CST.

According to the Huffington Post, Morello, who is a union member of Professional Musicians Local 47 in Los Angeles and whose mother is a schoolteacher, says that Wisconsin workers' battle for collective bargaining rights is a deeply personal issue and one that reverberates throughout the nation."

"I really think that the future of the rights of working people in this country is not going to be decided in the courts," Morello told The Huffington Post. "It's not going to be decided in Congress or radio talk shows. The future of rights of working people in this country will be the fight on the streets of Madison, Wisconsin."

Morello also told HuffPo that he'd received words of encouragement from Egyptian activist Maor Eletrebi and he firmly believes that "Madison is the next Cairo."
