Panda Bear (Noah Lennox)

Panda Bear Will Release Another New Single In October

Panda Bear, the alter ego of Animal Collective's Noah Lennox, continues to tease fans by slowly releasing singles from his upcoming album Tomboy.

The second to drop is "You Can Count On Me," described as a "gentle duet" between Lennox and himself. The 7-inch single will be available in stores on October 19. Only 500 are available for pre-order from Domino Records.

The B-side is "Alsatian Dan" which promises to be, per the Domino website, a "slightly foreboding track with an off-beat melancholy chord progression that occasionally lets the light break through with a jaunty two-step, if ever so briefly." Make of that what you will.

There's no release date set yet for Tomboy, the followup to Pitch Perfect, but Panda Bear will be touring throughout the late summer and early fall. The stops include a gig on New York's Governor's Island on September 11. Since "You Can Count On Me" was unveiled at the Pitchfork Festival earlier this summer, it's very likely that Lennox will introduce more new tracks during his live shows.
