Caribou Lines Up Tour Dates, Live Double Album

Caribou, the moniker for Polaris Prize winner (and 2010 nominee) Daniel Snaith and his electro-pop persona, has announced a hefty load of tour dates. The long, 70-date trek, appropriately called the "Relentless Sleep-Depriving Fall World Tour," puts Snaith and his band on the road until mid-December.

The tour, which kicks off on September 14 in Guelph, Ontario, will reach New York's Webster Hall on September 22 with opening act Emeralds. Snaith will also play a DJ set at Le Souk the night before.

Caribou will also release a new live album. Back in 2009, at The Flaming Lips-curated All Tomorrow's Parties festival in New York, Snaith recruited friends Four Tet (Kieran Hebden), Luke Lalonde of Born Ruffians, Koushik Ghosh, members of Junior Boys and Sun Ra Arkestra band leader Marshall Allen and played as the Caribou Vibration Ensemble. Another incarnation of that ensemble emerged in Toronto for one concert as well. The live ATP show was happily recorded and will be released this fall as a limited edition double vinyl album, accompanied by a concert DVD. It will only be available for sale at Caribou's concerts.

Snaith writes on Caribou's website that the ATP show "was something of a dream come true for us."
