Admiral Radley Will Join Band of Horses This Autumn

Admiral Radley, the quirky love child of Los Angeles' melancholy popsters Earlimart and the now-dissolved Grandaddy, released their surprisingly sunny album I Heart California last week and will be joining Band of Horses on tour this fall.

The quartet of former Grandaddy vocalist Jason Lytle, drummer Aaron Burtch and Earlimart's Aaron Espinoza and Ariana Murray are touring this August with Hooray For Earth. They'll arrive in the New York area on August 20 for a gig at Bowery Ballroom.

Native Californian Lytle, who lives in Montana now, began working with Espinoza on the project back in 2006, around the time of the release of Grandaddy's last album Just Like The Fambly Cat. The Admiral Radley project was set aside for several years and then resurrected last year when the quartet realized that they had enough songs for an entire album and decided to become a band.
